
Ari Hunter Scott is a cellist, composer, and improviser based in the Chicago area. She currently plays with ensembles in the Chicago area while pursuing a Master’s in Music Performance at DePaul University and composing as a freelancer. Scott’s practice as a cellist spans both orchestral, chamber music, and solo performance. She is a member of DePaul’s Symphony Orchestra and new music ensemble, 20+, and plays with other ensembles, including the Illinois Symphony Orchestra in its past concert cycle. Ari Scott composes across several different styles and ensembles. She has written for string quartet, trio, for solo instruments, both with and without piano, as well as acoustic and digital soundtrack music. Her works incorporate many elements of Impressionism, jazz, and neo-classicism in an original language.
