Join us at Experimental Sound Studio for the last three third Thursdays of the year. 10.20 | Chicago Festival of György Kurtág 2026 presents Zach Good (clarinet) and Jonathan Hannau (piano) perform solo selections from the monumental series "Játékok" (Games) and "Jelek, játékok és üzenetek" (Signs, Games & Messages). Co-Presented by Dan Galat, Liza Sobel Crane, and Fulcrum Point New Music.11.17 | Cacie Miller presents Sandpaintings: 16 Piano Pieces Inspired by Traditional Navajo Art, pianist and composer Connor Chee crafts music inspired by the sacred elements of Diné art. This cycle of pieces for solo piano alternates themes of stones, clouds, lightning, and mountains, four elements, presented four times each in directional permutation. 12.15 | William Jason Raynovich presents echoes of now, featuring works by Alvin Lucier, Eve Beglarian, Pamela Z, Colin Kemper, and Raynovich himself. Raynovich works with the open-source visual programming language, Pure Data, to create interactive compositions using notational systems and a series of unconventional instruments built in collaboration with artist Rebecca Reineke. These compositions, including tre’, and his cello solo piece, now for cello and computer, explore self-similarity systems with audio processing. ...
