To culminate a multi-quarter project of working closely with Department of Music graduate students in Composition, the internationally celebrated Imani Winds – the new Don Michael Randel Ensemble-in-Residence at the University of Chicago – presents the world premiere performances of six works created by composers Rodrigo Bussad, Pierce Gradone, Jack Hughes, Joungbum Lee, Timothy Page, and Igor Santos. Hear how each young composer both explores and exploits the sound world of the woodwind quintet in this cutting-edge program.
