2017

Event Description

Since 2014 Fulcrum Point has developed and promoted emerging composers in a free, public setting through their ongoing series, Discoveries: Hear and Be Heard. The event is simultaneously a concert featuring young and emerging composers, a dialogue and workshop, and a reception with wine and cheese. Often, it is the first time selected composers hear their music performed by professional musicians. In addition to enjoying new music, the audience learns about the composer’s inspirations and creative processes and is able to actively engage with the artists by offering impressions and feedback. Afterwards, audience, musicians, and composers mingle over wine and cheese. This is an indispensable opportunity for anyone intrigued by the composition process and is led by Fulcrum Point’s Curator of Inclusion & Discoveries, Seth Parker Woods.
