Event Description

A Page of Madness: Classic Japanese Silent Film by director Teinosuke Kinugasa set to electroacoustic music performed live by Fulcrum Point’s virtuoso musicians led by Stephen Burns with Special Guests Ryan Packard and Tatsu Aoki with Asian Improv aRts Midwest.

The most modern and challenging Japanese silent film to survive the fire bombings of WWII, A Page of Madness throws the viewer into a maelstrom of hallucinations and obsession, and easily stands way out amongst its kabuki and jidai-geki silent contemporaries. The partly composed, partly improvised electroacoustic music will be performed live by Fulcrum Point’s virtuoso musicians led by Tatsu Aoki and Stephen Burns.

In partnership with Asian Pop-up Cinema, ICE, and Asian Improv aRts Midwest.
