Event Description

Humans and objects merge to form a hybrid space of perforated sounds, shifting locations, and disorienting structures in this evening of experimental pieces, featuring pianist Mabel Kwan with Jesse Langen (electric guitar) and special guests Eric Derr (percussion), Tom Snydacker (saxophone), and Fredrick Gifford (electronics).

Be there for premieres by Sivan Cohen-Elias, whose strange inventions tie together movement, sound, space, and visual objects; Fredrick Gifford, whose compositions, dependent on real-time listening cues and performer interactions, are never the same twice; and Michelle Lou’s “wobbly, obsessive” Untitled Three Part Construction for electric guitar and two performers who click, crank, and clack.
