Event Description

“The Rivers are Our Brothers” is a solo electronic song cycle written by Connery that gives the power of voice to aspects of the natural world. Each song begins “I am a river,” or “I am rain,” to tell a series of stories from the perspective of a vanishing landscape. The title derives from a quote by Chief Seattle. The second half of the program features Connery’s New York City-based duo, Sky Creature, with Matt Walsh (of The Forms) performing work from their forthcoming album, Natural World, for vocals, electric guitar, synths, and MPC. This concert is part of the Ear Taxi Festival Spotlight Concert series.
