2020

Event Description

The Wurtz-Berger Duo (pianist Amy Wurtz and cellist Alyson Berger) will be playing the first ever concert in the brand new Old Fish Performance Space in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood!

The Old Fish has been under construction for a while, and was originally scheduled to open its doors in the Spring of 2020. Since that was not meant to be, the first performance at the Old Fish will be instead a livestream concert next Thursday, 11/19, which you can stream live OR watch afterwards anytime.

The Wurtz-Berger Duo is delighted that Norm Caplan, the owner of the new space, has asked them to give its first concert. They will be playing on the newly arrived Yamaha concert grand from PianoForte Chicago and couldn’t be more thrilled to bring you this concert!

This program includes the vibrant, energetic Of Wood and Touch by Alex ShapiroRoerich Rhapsody by Richard Cameron-Wolfe based on artwork by the eponymous painter; Jon Jeffrey Grier‘s imaginative Nocturne full of unusual creatures of the night; and finally Le Grand Tango from Astor Piazzolla.

Please tune in on YouTube next Thursday! The duo would love to hear from you in the chat and know you’re watching! And if you can’t make it, you’ll still be able to watch anytime afterwards!
