Mahalia Hernandez is currently pursuing Violin Performance at the Chicago College of Performing Arts under the direction of MingHuan Xu. Mahalia’s musical journey began at 4 years old at her elementary school’s afterschool strings program, Music House. For several years, Mahalia primarily studied with Zhanna Bullock. Mahalia would be selected as a recipient of the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative fellowship under the direction of Davis King, and the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, Mahalia would serve in the Lincoln Park High School Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Martin Nocedal, and attend New England Music Camp where she studied with Diana Sanchez.
