Women’s History Month Closing Concert
Pianist Amy Wurtz returns with her much-loved annual program celebrating music by women composers, presented in honor of Women’s History Month. The 2026 series brings the spotlight to composers from Minnesota, where Wurtz lived for five years, and showcases the creativity and expressivity composers like Edie Hill, Asuka Kakitani, Mari Isabel Valverde, Wynn-Anne Rossi, and Victoria Malawey bring to the piano, as well as Chicago-based composers Augusta Read Thomas, Marta Ptaszynska, Gillian Rae Perry, and Wurtz as composer.
This Closing Concert features selections from the pieces Wurtz played every day of March, and invites her audience to co-curate this concert, by voting for which of the 31 pieces they would like to hear on this concert. To vote, audience members can visit buymeacoffee.com/amywurtz/e/221270 and to hear more about the Women’s History Month project, please visit https://www.amywurtz.com/about-4.
A passionate advocate for new music, Wurtz brings insight, commitment, and expressive clarity to this wide-ranging program. This popular concert is both a celebration and a discovery—an inspiring afternoon of music that expands the piano repertoire and the stories we hear onstage.
