We are excited to announce New Music for Voice and Chamber Ensemble, three premieres on Sunday, November 9th at 8:30pm, live at Constellation (3111 N Western Ave, Chicago) and streaming online at Constellation’s website.
Missing Piece joins with two Chicago composer/performers: pianist Jonathan Hannau and soprano Liza Sobel Crane to premiere newly commissioned works for piano trio and soprano by composers Alex Taylor and Jonathan Hannau, as well as a new duo for Missing Piece written by Liza Sobel Crane.
Also included in the program is the first book of György Kurtág’s seminal Kafka Fragments for violin and soprano. These new compositions explore the sounds of voice in a small chamber music setting. This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.
