New Music at the Green Mill Sunday, May 3, 2026 4:00 pm 4802 N. Broadway, Chicago, 60640 $10 cover at the door
New Music at the Green Mill features Chicago’s most adventurous composers and performers playing music in the iconic, relaxing atmosphere of the Green Mill. This series has been going on for decades and 2026 comes with even more new music, new ensembles, and new performers, alongside those who have made this series what it is for so many years.
The Wurtz-Berger Duo will play music by Janika Vandervelde. Violinist Tricia Park plays works by Anthony Cheung as well as her own compositions. Cellist William Jason Raynovich follows past performances of his work “Now” with his current work for cello/electronics, “Was”. George Flynn, the series’ founder, will have his piano music performed by Frank Abbinanti. We welcome the Ravenswood Quintet for the first time with music by Airan Wright, alongside soprano Mo Ryan singing poetry from Rumi set to music written by Amy Wurtz which hasn’t been heard for over twenty years. We warmly welcome back the Amos Gillespie Quartet who come to give a second performance to Gillepie and Wurtz’s music written to celebrate Uptown.
