Dr. Shannon Lotti is a contemporary music specialist and Miyazawa Emerging Artist known for her engaging performances and thoughtful approach to new music. She performs as a soloist and collaborative artist, and is a member of Duo Aequalis with pianist Stephen Eckert and Spectra Trio with Eckert and cellist Anthony Marchese. Their debut album is set to be released in Fall 2026.
As an educator, Shannon is dedicated to helping students practice efficiently and play with freedom and confidence. Her teaching focuses on effective practice strategies, problem-solving, and building a healthy, sustainable technique.
She is a prizewinner of numerous national and international competitions, including first prizes in the Atlanta Flute Club, South Carolina Flute Society, and Central Ohio Flute Association. Her principal teachers include Roberta Michel, Terri Sánchez, John Bailey, and Jennifer McElroy.
