A new duo exploring intricate, subtle sounds drawing upon shared experience in avant-garde composition and performance.

The Adiaphora Orchestra performs the compositions and conductions of Chicago based composer and percussionist Adam Shead. Since its foundation in 2018 the Adiaphora Orchestra has become Chicago’s premier improvising large ensemble focused on dismantling the hierarchical approach to music making often seen in chamber or orchestral mediums. For tonight’s performance the Adiaphora Orchestra will shrink down to a quartet to explore and iterate on the classic saxophone quartet exploring and mutating traditional tropes of the format.
